Records of the Michigan Civil War Centennial Observance Commission, 1960-1966.

This record group consists of two sets of records of the Michigan Civil War Centennial Observance Commission for the years 1960-1966. The first set of records are the general administrative records (1963-66). These include minutes of Jan. 15, 1963 Commission meeting and reports in from cities and committees from 1964. The committee reports relate to the effect of the war on mining, and Medal of Honor recipients. Also includes correspondence relating to the Civil Service Commission (1963); marker at Stone River (1966); newsletters published by various roundtable organizations (1962-66); and compliments on published materials (1964-66). The second group of records are records relating to the Sub-Committee on Graves Registration (1960-66). The forms offers name, enlistment and service records, place and date of birth and death, name and location of cemetery, lot and grave number, and additional remarks of Michigan soldiers buried in various county cemeteries.
